On 30 October 2015, in the Welfare Hall, the Community Brass band offered a concert to raise funds for charity and it could be considered either a late Proms or an early Armistice evening, depending on how you looked at it. With a programme of music that would fit into either or both of the events, it also gave the opportunity for them to showcase some of their fine soloists.
Their chosen charity is Brain Tumour Research which is close to the heart of the members as one of their number has been diagnosed with a brain tumour and continues to enjoy his work with the band. He conducted them in one of his own arrangements which has been a prize-winner. The night ended with Land of Hope and Glory and flag-waving and song.
